Imposible Part 18

There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief... and unspeakable love. - Washington Irving

Oh. Sorry. So you're here. Sorry for the depressing thoughts. It's raining heavily today and I'm all alone. Boyfriend ko? Wala. May pinuntahan kasama ng friends niya. Although I think it's nice that you visited me. I have a story to tell you. It's about a girl who chased a dream. This girl also loved the rain... So just sit tight and above all... listen.

A girl was born to very rich parents. Her father was a rich businessman and her mother was a poor scholar from the province. She was the eldest born and the only girl. She lived a sheltered life. Everything she wanted, she had. Needless to say, she grew up to be a spoiled brat.

And when the teenage years came, she began to live a double life. She tried everything that there was to true. Smoking came first. Then, she became acquainted with something called alcohol. She did not stop there. Drugs she tried too. Marijuana and heroin was her friends during the lonely days. And lost her virginity to a man she never really loved.

In her other life, she was the picture of perfection. Beautiful, smart and articulate. Always prim and proper. She was an obedient daughter and a model by the age of 14. Nobody would have thought that she was this crazy girl.

Her life tore her apart and kept her sane at the same time. Leading a double life filled the emptiness that she felt but it also gnawed at her inside. It wasn't an easy life but it was the life that she only knew. She was without a doubt, a beautiful mannequin with a hollow center. Yeah. That was the perfect description for her.

And suddenly, just like a fairy tale, a charming prince discovered both worlds that she lived in. She was afraid of the guy because she didn't know what he would think of her. But for some freakin' reason, the guy loved her more for it.

Then, for the sake of the guy, she changed. She intertwined her double lives and made it as one. She tried to change for the better. No more drugs but a little smoking and drinking remained. And not likely to go away. She talked to her parents and told them everything. Her dad shed a tear and her mother cried but she was still loved unconditionally.

Ok. Let's pause here for a minute. Some people always complained that they never felt loved nor did they ever love. That's not really true. Pure unconditional love was the first thing that people experience in the world. Perhaps, the love of a parent is the purest of all loves because of its unconditionality. No matter how hard you try to shove them away, they will be there for you to help you pick up the pieces of a ruined life. Love your parents. It's the least you could do. And now back to the story.

No matter what she did, the guy was always there for her. The guy was supportive. And she never knew happiness like she felt when she was with him. And for the first time in her life, she felt whole. She asked her parents if she could move away from them in her third year at college. She did it for independence. All her life, she was given everything. Now, she wanted to try something different. No allowance and no family support. She wanted to be independent and self-sufficient. Her parents were sad but she was allowed to do so. It was all for the best.

And this is where the story ends. It's not exactly a pretty story is it? A little boring I guess. But it's life as well. And for sure, a story that had a lot of rain in it.
